The Annual General Meeting of the APPG Global Deforestation was held in Parliament on 3 December 2025 and elected a new Co-Chair, Alex Sobel MP.
Pippa Heylings, MP, was confirmed as Co-Chair, and two APPG officers, Lord Randall and Baroness Boycott were also appointed.
The purpose of the APPG on Global Deforestation is to provide a forum for advocacy and discussion on global deforestation and deforestation-linked human rights abuses, ensuring these issues remain firmly on the parliamentary agenda.
The membership of the APPG was agreed and recorded in the AGM minutes.
Last year the APPG Global Deforestation held events on the International Day of Forests, meetings with Indigenous leaders and a Westminster Hall Debate. Read more about the APPG in the Annual Report 2024-2025.
