Members of the NGO Forest Coalition have written a letter to government ministers urging them to protect the UK’s support for forests from the cuts to the foreign aid budget.
The letter to the Foreign Secretary David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Miliband and Environment Secretary Steve Reed highlighted the importance of maintaining the UKs world-leading support for forests and Indigenous Peoples and other local communities (IPLCs).
It was signed by Earthsight, Fern, Forests Peoples Programme, Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Global Canopy, Global Witness, Mighty Earth and Rainforest Foundation UK.
