An event hosted by the co-Chair’s of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Global Deforestation, Anna McMorrin and Chris Grayling, to mark International Forests Day.
The event provided an opportunity to hear the latest from the UK government on how it is delivering on the commitments on forests and people made at COP 26 and 27 as well as at COP15.
We also heard updates on what is happening in Brazil following the election of President Lula, along with information about the latest Forest 500 findings, and insights into how finance contributes to deforestation.
Finally, the Panellists looked ahead to key actions in the coming year, reflecting on what key things need to happen, and what the UK needs to do, to make urgent progress on tackling deforestation.
